New The Wolverine International Poster Has Hugh Jackman Wielding A Samurai Sword

April 13, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

wolverine-teaser-poster3A new, rather cool, international poster for The Wolverine has surfaced, showing Hugh Jackman’s mutant wielding a samurai sword and looking generally badass.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘Based on the celebrated comic book arc, this epic action-adventure takes Wolverine (Hugh Jackman), the most iconic character of the X-Men universe, to modern-day Japan. Out of his depth in an unknown world, he will face a host of unexpected and deadly opponents in a life-or-death battle that will leave him forever changed. Vulnerable for the first time and pushed to his physical and emotional limits, he confronts not only lethal samurai steel but also his inner struggle against his own immortality.’

The movie is out in July.

And as we’re here, take a look below for another new The Hangover Part III poster, which is the fifth we’ve had just this week!

The Hangover Part III Trailer – The Wolf Pack are back in Vegas

April 12, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

The Hangover Part III hits cinemas on May 23rd (in the UK too, as the date has been moved up a couple of weeks), and to get us interested a new trailer has been released. This one has a bit more plot, with the guys staging an intervention to get Alan (Zach Galifianakis) some help, but things go pear shaped when a heavy (John Goodman) forces the Wolf Pack to find Mr Chow (Ken Jeong), he says has stolen over $20 million from him.

That results in the boys back in Vegas for one final blowout and plenty more madness.

It certainly looks fun and that perhaps this will be the franchise will be going out with a bang.

The Hangover Part III Teaser – The Wolfpack returns to Las Vegas

March 8, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

The final part of The Hangover trilogy hits cinemas on May 24th, and now we get to take our first look at the movie with a teaser trailer. Although things start out surprisingly dour, with the boys at a funeral, things soon go far more manic, with the Wolfpack back in Las Vegas and causing plenty more mayhem.

That said, there’s not too much info on the actual plot, although we’ve been promised that while there’s no batchelor party or wedding this time around, getting the boys back to Vegas ensures carnage aplenty.

Todd Phillips once more directs, with Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, Zach Galifianakis, Justin Bartha, Ken Jeong, Heather Graham and John Goodman starring.

Edward Norton Joins Michael Keaton & Emma Stone In Birdman

March 7, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

edward-nortonJust yesterday, we reported that Michael Keaton, Emma Stone, Naomi Watts, and Zach Galifianakis had signed up for Alejandro González Iñárritu’s upcoming comedy Birdman. With filming due to start in April, he’s got plenty more parts to fill, and now he’s got another heavyweight hitter in his cast, as Deadline reports that Edward Norton has joined the movie.

The movie is about an actor (Michael Keaton) who is mainly associated in the public consciousness with playing an iconic superhero on the silver screen. Since then his career has been on the slide, so in an attempt to revive it, he stages a Broadway show based on a Raymond Carver short story. Edward Norton is playing the egotistical lead actor in the play, who jeopardizes the success of the show and will be the film’s main antagonist. Emma Stone is set to play Michael Keaton’s daughter, Naomi Watts is an actress starring in the play, while Zach Galifianakis plays the stage production’s producer.

Alejandro González Iñárritu is directing from a screenplay he co-wrote with Alexander Dinelaris.

Emma Stone, Michael Keaton & Zach Galifianakis Find Birdman

March 6, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

emma-stoneA couple of months ago director Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu revealed he was going in a slightly different direction with Birdman. He made his name with heavy dramas such as Amores Perros, 21 Grams, Babel and Biutiful, but Birdman in a comedy.

Now he’s started filling out the cast, and has got some great names involved. THR reports that Michael Keaton, Emma Stone, Naomi Watts and Zach Galifianakis have all signed up for the movie. The film is about a once-famous actor (Keaton) who’s almost completely identified with playing an iconic superhero (a neat meta-note for the former Batman).

He’s now keen for people to see him in a different light by lining up a comeback in a Broadway play. The plot takes place entirely at one location over the span of three days, as he tries to juggle his comeback attempt with his family life, which takes a toll on his sanity.

Emma Stone will play his daughter, a young woman fresh out of rehab who works as her dad’s assistant. Watts meanwhile will be an actress in the play, while Galifianakis will play the production’s conniving producer.

Shooting will start early next month (which suggests Stone will be finished on Amazing Spider-man 2 by then).

HBO Developing Bored To Death Movie, Reuniting Jason Schwartzman, Zach Galifianakis & Ted Danson

January 23, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

bored-to-death-pic1HBO may have cancelled the TV series Bored To Death back in December 2011, but they still like it enough to put a thaterical feature film in development that hopes to reunite series stars Jason Schwartzman (Jonathan), Zach Galifianakis (Ray), and Ted Danson (George). Series creator Jonathan Ames is currently writing the screenplay.

THR says that in the film, ‘Jonathan, Ray, and George reunite to fight crime, commit crime, lose their minds and fail at love in a Bored to Death feature-length slapstick adventure.’

The three seasons of the TV series saw Jason Schwartzman as Jonathan Ames, a writer and amateur private detective who tried to solve crimes in Brooklyn, with the help of his friend Ray (Zach Galifianakis) and his editor George (Ted Danson). Although it was cancelled, many suggested that wa smore to do with Galifianakis’ burgeoning movie career and the increasing costs of making the show than because HBO didn’t like it – hence why they’re keen on a film version.

The Campaign (DVD)

January 19, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Starring: Will Ferrell, Jason Sudeikis, Dylan McDermott, Zach Galifianakis
Director: Jay Roach
Running Time: 80 mins
Certificate: 15
Release Date: January 21st 2013

Director Jay Roach had a bit of a political 2012. He made the HBO Sarah Palin biopic Game Change and the comedy The Campaign. For my money it was the former that was the most successful.

The Campaign is the sort of movie that will divide audiences – if you don’t mind films that leave reality in the dust and find their humour in stupidity, you’ll probably like it, but if you want your films to have some sort of logic to them, you’ll probably give up about 20 minutes in. First Hangover Part III Image Pays Tribute To The Beatles

December 17, 2012 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

hangover-part-3-pic1
The Hangover trilogy rounds out with Part III on May 24th, 2013, which sees the Wolf Pack returning to Las Vegas for a final blow-out. Now the first image from the movie has been released, which slightly randomly pays tribute to the Beatles and their famous Abbey Road image.

There’s also a second image, which you can see below, where Ken Jeong is back as Mr. Chow, who is seen impersonating a sheriff.

Todd Phillips once more directs, with Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, Zach Galifianakis, and Justin Bartha back to star. It’s safe to safe that their return to Vegas is just as crazy as their previous adventure. (Images via EW)

Melissa McCarthy May Be Up For Hangover Part III

September 20, 2012 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Melissa McCarthy’s film career got a huge boost due to Bridesmaids, and while she has to spend much of the year making her (abysmal) sitcom Mike & Molly, Variety reports she’s hoping to slip in a small role in the comedy sequel The Hangover Part III.

A deal hasn’t been finalised yet, as scheduling issues need to be sorted out, although it is believed she will sign on in the near future. No details are known about her character. She’ll have to sort things out quickly though, as shooting on the movie started in Los Angeles and Las Vegas last week.

Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, Zach Galifianakis, and Justin Bartha are back as The Wolf Pack, with franchise favorites Mike Tyson, Ken Jeong, Mike Epps, and Heather Graham also returning. Todd Phillips is directing from a screenplay he co-wrote with Craig Mazin. It’ll be in cinemas next summer.

Heather Graham Back For Hangover III

August 10, 2012 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

The Hangover Part III is coming full circle, bringing the franchise back to Las Vegas for the third and (allegedly) final installment. Today, we have word via Variety that Heather Graham will reprise her role as Jade from The Hangover.

The actress didn’t appear in last summer’s The Hangover Part II, which took the action to Thailand. However the return of Graham sets up some potential fireworks, since Stu (Ed Helms) got married to Jade during The Hangover, and the sequel was set around Stu’s wedding with his new fiancée Lauren (Jamie Chung). It isn’t known yet if Jamie Chung will be back as Stu’s current wife.

No specific plot details have been released for this final sequel, except that the Wolf Pack (Bradley Cooper, Ed Helms, and Zach Galifianakis) is going back to Vegas. Mike Epps will also return as Black Doug from the first installment, while franchise regulars Mike Tyson and Ken Jeong are also back. Todd Phillips is directing from a screenplay he co-wrote with Craig Mazin. Filming is scheduled to begin this autumn.
