Jurassic World Trailer – Chris Pratt versus the dinosaurs

November 25, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

jurassic-world-poster1-slideWatching the trailer for Jurassic World, you get the impression that Chris Pratt is the only person who’s seen the first three movies, as like most of us he quickly realises that while dinosaurs might be trouble, that goes double for creating your own genetically modified super-predator beast.

It does look pretty cool though, with the trailer – which we’d been promised on Friday but which has appeared online early – giving us a look at the rather futuristic and fully operational dino park. As you’d expect things quickly start to go wrong.

However it would appear that this time it’s not just humans vs. dinosaurs, as the genetically modified super-beast means many of the dinos are in just as much trouble as the people. Take a look at the trailer below.

Bryce Dallas Howard, Ty Simpkins, Nick Robinson, Irrfan Khan, Vincent D’Onofrio, Jake Johnson, Omar Sy, BD Wong and Judy Greer also star. It’s due out in the UK June 12th 2015. [Read more…]

Jurassic World Trailer Tease – Chris Pratt & Bryce Dallas Howard enter the dinosaur park

November 23, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Chris-Pratt-Jurassic-WorldAfter a 14 year gap the Jurassic Park franchise is returning in 2015 with Jurassic World, which takes us inside the fully functioning dinosaur theme park that John Hammond always envisioned. Now we can take out first look, although a very brief one. It does show us some real footage though, including some dinos, along with stars Bryce Dallas Howard and Chris Pratt.

Along with the 15 second tease is the promise we’ll be getting a full trailer this Friday.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘Steven Spielberg returns to executive produce the long-awaited next installment of his groundbreaking Jurassic Park series, Jurassic World. Colin Trevorrow directs the epic action-adventure from a screenplay he wrote with Derek Connolly. Frank Marshall and Pat Crowley join the team as fellow producers.

‘Jurassic World was shot in 3D and will be released by Universal Pictures in June  12th, 2015.’ [Read more…]

Jurassic World Poster Lets Us Know The Park Is Opening

October 15, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

jurassic-world-poster1It may be 21 years since Jurassic Park was first released, but the new poster for next year’s Jurassic World isn’t departing too far from the template that was set up back then, with the t-rex skeleton back in its circle.

Director Colin Trevorrow released the poster himself via Twitter, echoing the tagline with the message #theparkisopen.

As that suggests, the movie takes place in a fully functioning dinosaur theme park, where John Hammond’s vision has finally come to life. However it’s a safe bet that things don’t go well and there’ll be plenty of running and screaming from prehistoric beasties.

Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Vincent D’Onofrio, Ty Simpkins, Nick Robinson, Irrfan Khan, Omar Sy, Jake Johnson, Judy Greer and B.D. Wong (reprising his character from the original Jurassic Park) star, with a June 12th, 2015 release date set.

Chris Pratt Hits Super A-Grade Hottie Status In New Jurassic World Pic

August 1, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Chris-Pratt-Jurassic-WorldThis week with Guardians Of The Galaxy Chris Pratt has become a god to unfit men over 30. He is proof that if you were once a bit chunky and in danger of officially becoming ‘schlubby’, you can turn it all around and go from cute to being a stop-the-traffic super-hunk.

However it seems that his swoon-inducing appearance in Guardians is just a warm-up, as Colin Trevorrow has decided to jump on the buzz and release a new pic of Chris where he seems to have reached new levels of sexiness.

I’m now hoping that after years and years of being written and rewritten, the final script for Jurassic World is simply Pratt standing under an outdoor shower, while some dinosaurs or something (I don’t really care what) happens in the background.

The fact that Pratt is also funny, sweet and humble makes his recent transformation almost sickening – surely no one should be all those things?

Colin Trevorrow Brings Us A Jurassic World Comic-Con Poster

July 22, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

jurassic-world-comic-con-posterComic Con kicks off in a couple of days, and to make sure we’re thinking about what Jurassic World is going to bring, director Colin Trevorrow has released the poster above on Twitter.

He also included the message, ‘Exclusive Jurassic World art from @MarkEnglert, available at SDCC to a resourceful few.’

There won’t be a full panel for the film (Universal is the only one of the studios that won’t have a major presence in the massive Hall H), but hopefully there’ll be more than just this poster in San Diego.

Jurassic World is currently shooting with Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Ty Simpkins, Nick Robinson, Vincent D’Onofrio, Irrfan Khan, Omar Sy, Jake Johnson and Judy Greer starring. The film will take place in a fully operational Jurassic Park that’s already accepting tourists – although inevitably things go wrong. It’ll be in cinemas June 2015.

Colin Trevorrow Teases Jurassic World Dinosaur With A New Pic

June 19, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

jurassic-world-dino-teaseDirector Colin Trevorrow may have been forced to reveal more about the Jurassic World plot than he’d wanted to, but he still wants to keep teasing us, including with the image he tweeted above.

Last wee we got three pictures from the film, but they were all of the human cast, so this is the first (kind of) look at the actual creatures.

He didn’t say which dino this is. It could be a T-rex, but there’s also the possibility it’s a promised new dino, which is a mix of DNA from different creatures. Hopefully we’ll get a full look summer.

The film is due out summer 2015.

Chris Pratt Looks Exceptionally Hunky In New Jurassic World Pics

June 12, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

jurassic-world-pic1With a Jurassic Park movie, you expect dinosaurs, but as the movie is still in production we’ll forgive them for showing off the human side in a trio of new pics that have arrived, as they probably haven’t had too much time to sort out the effects for Jurassic World yet.

We have to say though, Chris Pratt is looking good as a scientist doing research into raptors on the island we were introduced to in the first movie. It’s now a fully functional theme park, but as you may have guessed, with dinosaurs around there’s bound to be havoc.

Bryce Dallas Howard plays a very smartly dressed woman who’s also believed to be some kind of scientist (with some reports suggesting she may be related to John Hammons). In the bottom pic are the youngsters who’ll inevitably end up in peril, Nick Robinson and Ty Simpkins.

The film is due out next year.

Director Colin Trevorrow Confirms Jurassic World Story & Talks New Dinos

May 30, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

jurassic-world-logoDirector Colin Trevorrow has been trying to keep plot details for the upcoming Jurassic World secret, but due to the interest in this new addition to the Jurassic Park franchise, bits and pieces of the plot have been leaking out.

He’s had nothing to say until now, but it seems the most recent bout of story leaks has prompted him to talk, largely because fans weren’t exactly pleased with what they’d heard, especially about a ‘mutant’ dinosaur genetically spliced from different dinos and modern animals, and ‘good’ and ‘bad’ dinosaurs.

Trevorrow spoke with /Film, confirming, “Jurassic World takes place in a fully functional park on Isla Nublar. It sees more than 20,000 visitors every day. You arrive by ferry from Costa Rica. It has elements of a biological preserve, a safari, a zoo, and a theme park. There is a luxury resort with hotels, restaurants, nightlife and a golf course. And there are dinosaurs. Real ones. You can get closer to them than you ever imagined possible. It’s the realization of John Hammond’s dream, and I think you’ll want to go there.”

He add, “[O]ur relationship with technology has become so woven into our daily lives. We’ve become numb to the scientific miracles around us. We take so much for granted… What if, despite previous disasters, they built a new biological preserve where you could see dinosaurs walk the earth…and what if people were already kind of over it? We imagined a teenager texting his girlfriend with his back to a T-Rex behind protective glass. For us, that image captured the way much of the audience feels about the movies themselves. ‘We’ve seen CG dinosaurs. What else you got?’ Next year, you’ll see our answer.”

As for rumours there would be good guy dinos on the side of the humans, and bad guy ones, he says, “There’s no such thing as good or bad dinosaurs. There are predators and prey. The T-Rex in Jurassic Park took human lives, and saved them. No one interpreted her as good or bad. This film is about our relationship with animals, how we react to the threat they pose to our dominance on earth as a species. We hunt them, we cage them in zoos, we admire them from afar and we try to assert control over them. Chris Pratt’s character is doing behavioral research on the raptors. They aren’t trained, they can’t do tricks. He’s just trying to figure out the limits of the relationship between these highly intelligent creatures and human beings.”

He did confirm that there will be a new dinosaur that’s a mix of other animals (the DNA of a T-Rex, a raptor, a snake and a cuttlefish) have been mentioned,.”[T]here will be one new dinosaur created by the park’s geneticists. The gaps in her sequence were filled with DNA from other species, much like the genome in the first film was completed with frog DNA. This creation exists to fulfill a corporate mandate-they want something bigger, louder, with more teeth. And that’s what they get.”

However he wants to allay people’s fears about that, “I know the idea of a modified dinosaur put a lot of fans on red alert, and I understand it. But we aren’t doing anything here that Crichton didn’t suggest in his novels. This animal is not a mutant freak. It doesn’t have a snake’s head or octopus tentacles. It’s a dinosaur, created in the same way the others were, but now the genetics have gone to the next level. For me, it’s a natural evolution of the technology introduced in the first film. Maybe it sounds crazy, but most of my favorite movies sound crazy when you describe them in a single sentence.”

For know, we’ll give him the benefit of the doubt.

The Office’s Andy Buckley Joins Jurassic World

May 7, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Andy-BuckleyShooting has already started on Jurassic World, but it’s not too late to add another cast member as The Office star Andy Buckley has joined the ensemble.

As with the other cast members, no details have been given about the character he’s playing. However he’ll join Chris Pratt, Jake Johnson, and Judy Greer, Ty Simpkins, Bryce Dallas Howard, Nick Robinson, Vincent D’Onofrio, Irrfan Khan, B.D. Wong and Omar Sy.

No official plot details have been confirmed, but it’s believed it’ll be set in a working dino theme park on Isla Nublar, where the dream of John Hammond has finally come true. However there will inevitably be problems with those prehistoric beasties (or otherwise it’d be a pretty boring movie)

Colin Trevorrow is directing from a screenplay he co-wrote with Derek Connolly. The movie is due out summer 2015.

First Official Jurassic World Set Pics Emerge & Bryce Dallas Howard Is Looking Good

April 23, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

jurassic-world-set-pic1It’s the week for the big movies of 2015 to gear up their shoots. The first pics from the Avengers: Age Of Ultron set have arrived, Terminator: Genesis announced it has started filming and now EW debuts some official set photos from Jurassic World.

There might not be any dinos, but looking at the truck, they’re certainly around. We’re also liking Bryce Dallas Howard’s new hairdo.

Director Colin Trevorrow comments “Yesterday I was under a construction crane with Chris Pratt, covered with dirt, eyeballing the exact height of the dinosaur trying to kill him. We both cracked up laughing. Sometimes you just have to stop and let the joy take over.”

He also promises plenty of dino action, with related reports saying that as with the earlier films, they will be using at least come animatronic animals.

The film hits cinemas June 2015.
