Universal Studios has had massive success with the Justin Lin directed Fast & Furious movies, and it seems that despite Lin having stepped aside from the next movie in the fast cars franchise, the studio wants to stay in business with him. Deadline reports Justin has signed on to direct the planned sequel to The Bourne Legacy.
Last August it was revealed that Anthony Peckham (Sherlock Holmes, Invictus) has been hired to write the screenplay. Jeremy Renner is expected to return as Treadstone agent Aaron Cross, although no other cast members have been confirmed at this time. There have been some suggestions Universal is once more trying to woo Matt Damon back to star alongside Renner, but at the moment this seems unlikely.
Justin Lin will also produce alongside Frank Marshall, Jeffrey M. Weiner and Ben Smith. It’s not known when it will shoot, but the project is still considered a high priority at Universal.





Firth is of course a veteran of the show, and indeed is the only person who appeared in pretty much every episode us the tough but fair Harry Pearce.
