It’s all action in the new Skyfall trailer, which suggest 007 is back on track after the messy blip that was Quantum Of Solace. It appears Bond is believed dead and M is in a bit of trouble. However the thankfully still breathing 007 is called back into action, meeting his new Q (Ben Whishaw), going up against a very blond Javier Bardem and watching an awful lot of things explode. It’s looking very cool and will hit UK cinemas on October 26th, before it hits the US on November 9th.

Luke Wilson Up For Million Dollar Man
Luke Wilson has never quite hit the career heights of his brother Owen, but he’s still a dependable figure in a film. Now he’s signed up for a new one, as Variety reports that Luke will take the lead in the comedy Million Dollar Man.
The flick is about a man who’s down on his luck and working as a driver for a soft drinks company. He then gets a second chance in like playing a football kicker, which is presumably when he becomes the million dollar man of the title.
Scott Marshall, who’s the son of Valentine’s Day director Garry Marshall, is set to direct the film from a script by Alex Schrader.
New Taken 2 Trailer – Neeson’s Brian Mills is back
It’s four years since Taken arrived, became a surprise hit and completely reinvigorated Liam Neeson’s career. This September 28th (in the UK) Taken 2 arrives, which sees Neeson’s Brian Mills return and he’s back in trouble. The retired CIA operative and his wife are in Istanbul and get taken hostage by the father of a kidnapper Mills killed while rescuing his daughter in the first movie. Take a look at the new trailer.
Jon M. Chu Set To Direct Masters Of The Universe
While there are still rumblings that the eight month delay on the release of GI Joe 2 was more about problems with the movie than the stated aim of converting it to 3D, it doesn’t seem to have put producers off picking director Jon M. Chu for another toy-to-film project.
THR reports that Step Up 2 and 3 helmer Chu is currently in talks for Masters Of The Universe, which will completely reboot the franchise for the big screen compared to the disastrous 1987 movie starring Dolph Lundgren. The film will be based on a script by Alex Litvak and Mike Finch, entitled Grayskull, although not too much is known about the plot. Hopefully it’ll stay more true to toy and 80s cartoon roots, about Prince Adam of Eternia, who has a sword that transforms him into the musclebound hero, He-Man.
Chu is currently working on Justin Bieber’s concert tour and overseeing the conversion of GI Joe 2. It isn’t clear when the Masters Of The Universe movie might shoot.
John Leguizamo Up For Kick-Ass 2 & Ridley Scott’s The Counselor
John Leguizamo will soon be heading for TV as a US version on Del Boy in their take on Only Fools And Horses, but before then he’s filling up his schedule with high profile film work. Deadline reports that he’s set for both Kick Ass 2 and Ridley Scott’s The Counselor.
The Cormac McCarthy-scripted Counselor already has Michael Fassbender, Brad Pitt, Penelope Cruz and Cameron Diaz onboard, and follows a respected lawyer who thinks he can dip a toe in to the drug business without getting sucked down. It is a bad decision and he tries his best to survive it and get out of a desperate situation. Leguizamo will be a low level drug dealer in the movie.
As for Kick Ass 2, the actor is set to play Javier, the bodyguard who’s trying to protect aspiring supervillain Red Mist (Christopher Mintz-Plasse). Aaron Johnson and Chloe Moretz will also be back for the sequel, with Jeff Wadlow directing.
Taylor Kitsch Goes For The Grand Seduction
Taylor Kitsch must be desperately hoping that he can score a hit soon, as his current cold streak is in danger of becoming a career killer. His latest attempt to find a success will be The Grand Seduction, director Don McKellar’s English-language remake of the Canadian drama La Grand Seduction, according to THR.
The movie will also star Brendan Gleeson as a man from a village that doesn’t have a doctor. He sets out to find a medic who agrees to come to the village for a while, but Gleeson and his compatriots are determined to seduce him to stay permanently.
Gorden Pinsent, Mary Walsh, Cathy Jones and Liane Balaban will also star as villagers in the Canadian indie movie. The movie should start shooting later this years.
Russell Brand In Talks For Pierre Pierre
Just the other day, Russell Brand was saying that he was backing off from the movies and preparing to concentrate on stand-up. However it appears he’s not backing off that far, as Variety reports he’s in early talks for Larry Charles’ new movie, Pierre Pierre.
The script by Edwin Cannistraci and Frederick Seton was originally picked up by Jason Reitman in 2008, with Jim Carrey attached to star. Now Borat and The Dictator’s Larry Charles is set to direct, with Brand possibly joining him.
The film is about a French nihilist who transports a stolen painting from Paris to London. During his journey he runs into a serial killer (named Pigeonshit), a French police inspector, and his own mother (who owns a brothel).
Emma Stone Takes On Cameron Crowe’s Next
Not much info is known about Cameron Crowe’s next movie, but at least we now know that it’s going to star Emma Stone, as Deadline reports that the actress is set to play the female lead in the movie.
There’s no news on the title or the plot, although the film will apparently be largely a two-hander, pairing Stone with a man, who it appears is yet to be cast, in a comedic love story. The tone is said to be closer to Crowe classics such as Almost Famous and Jerry Maguire than the likes of We Bought A Zoo. And to be honest, that can only be a good thing.
It’s hoped that shooting will begin next spring.
Bill Murray Heads For St. Vincent de Van Nuys
It’s always good news when Bill Murray decides to star in a movie, and now he’s in early talks to star in the comedy St. Vincent de Van Nuys for writer-director Theodore Melfi and 20th Century Fox, according to Variety.
The story is about a 12-year-old boy who strikes up a bizarre relationship with his misanthropic retired neighbor (Murray), whose life revolves around drinking, gambling, and prostitutes. The screenplay landed on the 2011 Black List, where it received the same amount of votes as Quentin Tarantino’s Django Unchained. Jack Nicholson was previously rumored to star as the elderly neighbor before Bill Murray expressed interest.
It isn’t clear exactly clear when the film will short.
Paranormal Activity 4 Teaser Trailer
The first teaser for Paranormal Activity 4 is incredibly short – just 13 seconds – but its here to announce the movie is coming and that the full trailer will arrive on August 8th. It also suggests that perhaps after three movies where we’ve worked our way parallel and back in time, the franchise may finally be moving forward, telling us what happened to Katie and her niece. And thanks goodness for that. The film is due out October 19th, with Paranormal Activity 3 helmers Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman returning to direct.
