Hit and Run is the story of Charlie Bronson (Dax Shepard), a former getaway driver who busts out of the Witness Protection Program to drive his girlfriend (Kristen Bell) to Los Angeles so she can land her dream job. Their road trip grows awkwardly complicated, when they are chased by the feds (led by Tom Arnold), and increasingly dangerous, when Charlie’s former gang of criminals (led by Bradley Cooper) enter the fray. Although Shepard has a variable track record in lead roles, it’s a great cast. The trailer does skirt on the edge of racism and seems slightly obsessed with Bradley Cooper having been raped in prison, but hopefully in the context of the movie it doesn’t come across a homophobic.

Red Hook Summer Trailer – Spike Lee heads back to Brooklyn
Other than his documentaries, Spike Lee has been relatively commercial for the past few years, but now he’s going in an indie direction and back to Brooklyn for Red hook Summer. The film tells the story of Flik Royale (Jules Brown), a young boy who travels from Atlanta to stay with his bishop grandfather, Enoch Rouse (Clarke Peters), in Brooklyn for the summer. For a while it seems as though it’s going to be a hellish couple of months, as Enoch keeps trying to show Flik the way of Jesus, but then he meets a young girl named Chazz Morningstar (Toni Lysaith), who begins to show him the other side of the city. The film also stars Nate Parker, James Ransone, and Thomas Jefferson Byrd. No UK release date is currently set.
Darren Lemke Writing Carmen Sandiego
Darren Lemke has become one of the go-to guys for family friendly movies, having worked on Shrek Forever After, The Nutcracker and Bryan Singer’s upcoming Jack the Giant Killer. Now he’s been hired to write the script for Walden Media’s movie based on Where In The World Is Carmen Sandiego?
J-Lo is still attached to star as ACME agency’s greatest detective, Carmen Sandiego, who becomes the world’s greatest thief. It’s up to her former partner to follow her clues and track her down. Their cat and mouse game leads the partner to confront a greater mystery: is Carmen really a thief or a hero? Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego? The franchise started off as an educational video game before it spawned an animated TV series.
There’s no news on when it might shoot, but it’s a decent enough set-up for a movie.
Looper Trailer – Loads more plot in the UK promo for the Gordon-Levitt & Willis flick
While we had a trailer for Looper a few weeks ago, it was a bit light on plot. However that’s been remedied with the new UK promo, which gives a much better sense of Rian Johnson’s time travel move. Joe (Jospeh Gordon Levitt) works as a looper, a futuristic assassin who receives and eliminates targets sent back in time by a criminal organisation. The only rule is that you do not let your target escape – even if that target is you. Looper stars Bruce Willis, Joseph Gordon Levitt and Emily Blunt and is released on September 28.
New Total Recall Trailer – Some things are familiar, some are not
There’s been a lot of talk about what’s been changed and what’s stayed the same in the new remake of Total Recall, to the point where many have wondered if it’s a remake at all. However this new trailer seems designed to show there’ll be quite a lot of familiar elements, even if it doesn’t head to Mars – hell, there’s even a three-breasted hooker. Here’s the synopsis: ‘Total Recall is an action thriller about reality and memory, inspired anew by the famous short story “We Can Remember It For You Wholesale” by Philip K. Dick. Welcome to Rekall, the company that can turn your dreams into real memories. For a factory worker named Douglas Quaid (Colin Farrell), even though he’s got a beautiful wife (Kate Beckinsale) who he loves, the mind-trip sounds like the perfect vacation from his frustrating life – real memories of life as a super-spy might be just what he needs. But when the procedure goes horribly wrong, Quaid becomes a hunted man. Finding himself on the run from the police – controlled by Chancellor Cohaagen (Bryan Cranston), the leader of the free world – Quaid teams up with a rebel fighter (Jessica Biel) to find the head of the underground resistance (Bill Nighy) and stop Cohaagen. The line between fantasy and reality gets blurred and the fate of his world hangs in the balance as Quaid discovers his true identity, his true love, and his true fate.’ It’s due out August 29th.

Kevin Hart Up For About Last Night Remake
Back in January 2011 it was revealed that Screen Gems was plotting a remake of the 1986 Rob Lowe and Demi Moore movie, About Last Night. We haven’t heard too much about it since, but now THR reports that Actor Kevin Hart, who most recently starred in Think Like a Man, has become the first actor to sign on to star.
The actor will portray Bernie Litgo, played by James Belushi in the original About Last Night. The story centres on a man and a woman who try to strike up a romantic affair, much to the chagrin of their friends.

The Human Fly Buzzing To The Big Screen
While Marvel has been busy making its own movies in recent years and rueing the day it sold the likes of Spider-man and Fantastic 4 to others, their still prepared the license their minor characters if people want to make movies out of them. That’s what’s happened with The Human Fly, a Marvel comic book that ran for 19 issues between 1977 and 1979 and which Producer Alan Brewer and director Steven Goldmann have now picked up the rights to.
Tony Babinski (Cirque Du Soleil’s historian – yep, he really is) is writing the screenplay based on the comic book series, which was loosely based on the life of stuntman Joe Ramacieri. The story follows a young man who is severely injured in a car crash. He has to undergo several operations, where most of his skeleton is replaced by steel. He becomes The Human Fly, who performs stunts at charity benefits, where he would often tangle with criminals trying to rob the gala events. He also sometimes encountered other Marvel superheroes, such as Spider-Man and Daredevil.
The producers are looking to secure financing through private equity funding for this indie effort.
First Pic Of Tom Cruise As Jack Reacher
Tom Cruise has been busy shooting an adaptation of One Shot, in which he takes on Lee Child’s popular character Jack Reacher. Now EW has revealed the first official image from the movie, which you can see above.
There has been some controversy over this adaptation, since Jack Reacher is a hulking 6’5″ man in Lee Child’s noveld, and Tom Cruise is only 5’7″. The actor recently revealed that the author approved of his casting, saying, “For those of you who know the books, I’m obviously not 6-foot-5, like Jack Reacher. But Lee felt that I was the right guy to drive fast cars and kick the s-t out of people onscreen.”
In the novel, Reacher looks into the case of a trained military sniper who shot five random victims. Director Christopher McQuarrie comments on the character, “Someone asks him at one point in the story about the difference between a military policeman and a regular cop. Reacher points out that [for military police], every suspect is a trained killer. He is free from any sort of anxiety. He is truly not encumbered by all the bulls-t that makes up our daily lives. He literally and figuratively has no baggage.”
