It took a while for the Farrelly Brothers to get their Three Stooges movie off the ground, and the teaser trailer suggests why, as it’s a risky mix of biopic and zany comedy, and brings the Stooges right up into the modern day. You’ll have to take a look below to see if you feel stooge type comedy works when it’s about iPhones, but Sean Hayes, Will Sasso and Chris Diamantopoulis sure look like they’re having fun. It really makes you wonder what it would have been like when Larry, Curly & Moe were set to be played by Jim Carrey, Sean Penn and Benicio Del Toro. It hits cinemas May 4th.
See Brad Pitt, Jessica Chastain & More Take On Cinematic Villains
Every year around awards season, the New York Times uses its muscle to get a bunch of top actors to dress up and pose for unsual pictures, all related to a different theme. This year’s theme is ‘Touch Of Evil’ and it sees everyone from Brad Pitt to George Clooney taking part, dressed up as some of cinema’s greatest villainous archetypes.
We’ve gathered together some of the images below, but you can get a better look over at the NYTimes site, along with videos of the stars, which sadly aren’t embeddable. It’s incredible how they get all these people to take part, and it makes for some great shots.

Star Trek 2 Eyeing Edgar Ramirez As Its Villain
With a January production start planned for Star Trek 2, JJ Abrams doesn’t have long to find the film’s main villain after talks with Benicio Del Toro broke down last week. As a result he’s working fast and it seems he’s already found the person he wants, although as yet no deal is in place.
Variety reports that Édgar Ramírez (Carlos) is the front runner to win the bad guy role, with Jordi Mollà (Colombiana) also in contention. With both those actors from Latin America, it will undoubtedly increase the rumours that the baddie is Khan, although this is far from being confirmed. If you’re trying to place Ramirez’s face, while he hasn’t really made it big in Hollywood yet, the Venezuelan actor has been seen in the likes of Domino, Che and The Bourne Ultimatum.
Director J.J. Abrams is expected to make a decision before the weekend. Édgar Ramírez will apparently test for the role via Skype today, so expect to hear more soon. Star Trek 2 is due in cinemas May 17th, 2013.

Helen Mirren Wants To Be Hitchcock’s Wife
Last January it was announced that Anthony Hopkis was onboard to play the title role in Alfred Hitchcock And The Making of Psycho. Since then it seems the project has had a few problems, which have resulted in it moving from Paramount Pictures to Fox Searchlight. However now things are getting back on track and THR reports that Helen Mirren is in talks to play Hitchcock’s wife, Alma Revile.
The dramatic comedy is based on Stephen Rebello’s non-fiction book of the same name and focuses on Hitchcock’s quest to make his 1960 horror classic Psycho, which no studio wanted a part of. Hitchcock secured financing himself and shot the movie with TV crew to keep the costs down, as everyone assumed the great man was throwing his career away on a schlocky low-rent horror movie that was beneath him. The movie will also look at the filmmaker’s relationship with his wife, who was as vital a part of the Hitchcock machine as Alfred was, although she rarely gets the credit.
Sacha Gervasi (Anvil! the Story of Anvil) is directing from a screenplay by John J. McLaughlin (Black Swan) and author Stephen Rebello. An April production start date is planned.

Armie Hammer Up For By Virtue Fall
Hollywood has long bemoaned the lack of young, male a-list stars (outside the comedy genre), with a feeling too many of the stars in the big league are getting a little long in the tooth. It’s one reason why they seem so keen on pushing Armie Hammer up the ranks. It doesn’t hurt that he’s talented and good looking though.
Now Deadline reports that Armie Hammer has joined the cast of By Virtue Fall for writer/director Sheldon Turner. The film follow Hammer’s character, a former ATF agent who is framed for a crime that he didn’t commit by his former partner (to be played by Eric Bana). Way back in March it was revealed that James Spader, Ryan Phillippe and Carla Gugino will also star, although there are no details on their characters.
Sheldon Turner will make his directorial debut with By Virtue Fall, working from his own original screenplay. Shooting is scheduled to begin next autumn, after Armie Hammer wraps on Lone Ranger.

A masterpiece to some, a source of utter befuddlement to others, Terry Gilliam’s Brazil has been dividing opinions now for over 25 years. Now it reaches Blu-ray, which is certainly a good way to show off the film’s extraordinary production design.

BGPS’s Advent Calendar Of Buff Blokes: Day 7 – Chris Salvatore
Starting off BGPS’s advent calendar last week with Eating Out: Drama Camp’s Aaron Milo proved an extremely popular move. That’s undoubtedly because he is insanely hot and not afraid to prance about wearing very few clothes. It also caused one guy to e-mail me to ask when we could expect to see Milo’s co-star, Chris Salvatore, who’s equally as gorgeous.
Well, the answer is today, and just like Aaron Milo, Chris is even better with his top off and not afraid to prove that to us!
The gay actor/musician made his feature film debut playing pretty but shallow Zack in Eating Out 3: All You Can Eat, and he’s recently reprised the role in Eating Out: Drama Camp and the upcoming Eating Out: The Open Weekend. While it’s great to see him smouldering on screen in the uber-gay movie series, he’s equally gorgeous in a still image, so click below to enlarge our hot pics of Chris. [Read more…]
New Dr. Seuss’ The Lorax Trailer

Brought to life by the guys behind Despicable Me, the animated adventure follows the journey of a boy as he searches for the one thing that will enable him to win the affection of the girl of his dreams. Juno Temple & Wes Bentley Join Lovelace
After being in developments for ages, two biopics of porn star turned anti-smut crusader Linda Lovelace are finally moving ahead, one with Malin Akerman in the lead role and Amanda Seyfried in the other. It’s the latter, simply titled Lovelace, that seems the most interesting, and now it’s got a few new cast members, as Variety reports that Juno Temple, Wes Bentley and Sharon Stone have signed on.
Linda Lovelace is a fascinating figure far beyond the titilation of being the star of one of the best known porn films in history – Deep Throat. Initially appearing in hardcore (and even bestiality) movies, at first Lovelace seemed to revel in her status. However during her divorce from Chuck Traynor (to be played by Peter Sarsgaard) in the late 70s, she claimed that he was violent and had forced her into pornography at gunpoint (with some evidence to back her up).
She said that her marriage was plagued with beatings and rape, and that when she appeared in porn, it was basically enforced prostitution. While there have been some disagreements as to the extent Lovelace was a willing participant in her porn career, there seems little doubt that her marriage to Traynor was viscious and cruel. She then became an anti-pornography champion, speaking at public events and testifying at government hearings on pornography. However she later said she felt used by the anti-pornography movement, which got a lot mileage out of having Lovelace as a convert, but which never helped her out. She died in a car accident in 2002.
Sharon Stone will play Linda Lovelace’s mother Dorothy Boreman, Temple will be her best friend, while Bentley is set to play her second husband.
Rob Epstein and Jeffrey Friedman (Howl) will direct from a screenplay by Merritt Johnson and Andy Bellin, which is adapted from Eric Danville’s book, The Complete Linda Lovelace. Production is finally scheduled to begin in January,

Michael Bay May be Back For Transformers 4
In the run up to the release of Transformers: Dark Of The Moon, it was said that this would be the last giant robots film for both star Shia Labeouf and director Michael Bay. However while that seemed pretty definite on the Shia score, Bay has said he’d never make another after every installment, before signing on again a few months later.
While not 100% confirmed yet, Vulture reports that Bay is doing the same again, as he’s in final negotiations to direct a new Transformers film. While he agreed to put his long-gestating project, Pain & Gain, on hold to make Dark Of The Moon, he’s unlikely to do so again, so any Transformers deal will be contingent on him getting to make the thriller first. Paramount meanwhile seems to realise this and so is making backing Pain & Gain part of its deal to get Bay back on board for Transformers 4.
There are no story details yet for the planned relaunch of the franchise without Labeouf, but it’s been said it definitely won’t be a prequel, but it will delve deeper in Transformers lore.

Adam Sandler Planning Grown Ups Sequel
Sometimes movies go into development not because anyone’s thinking about what the audience wants, but because a star simply thinks it’s going to be fun. It’s difficult not to think that’s what’s happening here, as Variety reports that Adam Sandler is planning a sequel to Grown Ups.
The film was trashed by critics when it arrived in theaters during the summer of 2010, but like most Adam Sandler movies, it still proved to be a hit with audiences, taking in more than $150 million at the US box office. It’s easy to see why Adam Sandler would want to go back for seconds, as it will allow him to once again work with his friends Kevin James, Chris Rock, David Spade, and Rob Schneider, who are all expected to return if Sandler decides he definitely wants to make Grown Ups 2.
This would be the first sequel for Adam Sandler’s Happy Madison Production Banner. Original scribe Fred Wolf is returning to pen this sequel. Sandler has no deal in place yet to start in Grown Ups 2, with his involvement contingent on the screenplay.
