My Gay Roommate – Season 3, Ep 6: Coital Logistics – The gay web series has bedroom issues

August 20, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

my-gay-roommate-s3-ep6My Gay Roommate is great fun, with this latest season following Nick (Noam Ash) and his new roomie, Ed. However that’s not all, as the slightly surreal show has also had a cowboy coming out and getting into bed with our plucky hero.

However not everything is perfect with the lovers, as we see in the latest episode, Coital Logistics. And to sort it out they call on insanely hot porn star Levi Michaels.

Noam Ash told Huffpo, “In this episode Nick and the Cowboy are having some incompatibilities in the bedroom. Convinced he has the answers, Ed prepares a lecture on proper intimacy techniques and male coital logistics aided by none other than Levi Michaels himself, who reveals the science behind being a superstar power bottom and bestows his sexy Rounderbum undies on Nick. But things don’t go as planned, and the roommates find themselves tied and gagged as one of the characters gives the boys a final talking to.”

Take a look at the new episode below, and you can catch up on the rest of Season 3 by clicking here. [Read more…]

New Kink Trailer – James Franco looks into the world’s biggest BDSM site

August 20, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

kink-slideThe James Franco produced and Christina Voros directed Kink debuted back in January 2013 at Sundance, but it’s taken a while to get to a larger audience. However it should hopefully be reaching a wider audience soon.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘Director Christina Voros and producer James Franco pull back the curtain on the fetish empire of Kink.com, the Internet’s largest producer of BDSM content. In a particularly obscure corner of an industry that operates largely out of public view, Kink.com’s directors and models strive for authenticity. In an enterprise often known for exploitative practices, Kink.com upholds an ironclad set of values to foster an environment that is safe, sane, and consensual. They aim to demystify the BDSM lifestyle, and to serve as an example and an educational resource for the BDSM community.

‘In kink, we discover not only a fascinating and often misunderstood subculture, but also, in a career far from the mainstream, a group of intelligent, charismatic, and driven people who really, truly love what they do.’

Covering both gay and straight kinkster, it’s a doc that might well be worth a look. Watch the new trailer below. [Read more…]

New Annie Trailer – Will the sun be coming out tomorrow for Jamie Foxx and Quvenzhane Wallis?

August 20, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

annie-trailer-slideWhile Annie is a well-loved musical, there are only two songs from it that most people know, and that’s something the new trailer for the 2014 version seems well aware of, ensuring we get plenty of It’s A Hard Knock Life and Tomorrow.

It’s also keen to show us that things have been updated to the modern day and the whole thing should be a little funkier (and with Will Smith and Jay-Z both involved with updating the score, that shouldn’t be too much of a surprise).

The plot also remains the same though, with orphan Annie (Quvenzhane Wallis) having a hard-luck life in the foul orphanage run by Miss Hannigan (Cameron Diaz). She’s then taken in by the filthy rich Benjamin Stacks (Jamie Foxx). In this version he’s running for office and initially just wants Annie so the press will see him being nice to an orphan, but he soon falls for the plucky youngster’s charms. But then Annie’s real parents are found, or are they?

Will Gluck is directing from his own screenplay, which was originally written by Aline Brosh McKenna and Emma Thompson. Annie is currently set for release December 25th, 2014. [Read more…]

Ice Bucket Challenge Redux: Chris Hemsworth, Vin Diesel, Tom Hiddleston, James Franco & Grant Gustin

August 19, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

tom-hiddleston-ice-bucket-challengeIt seems celebs can’t get enough of doing the Ice Bucket Challenge. Just yesterday we posted the likes of Chris Pratt, Stephen Amell, Matt Bomer and Joe Manganiello getting drenched for charity, and since then they’ve been joined by plenty more.

As a result you can see Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Vin Diesel, The Flash’s Grant Gustin and a pant-free James Franco have a bucket of ice water chucked over their heads. Diesel in particular has an impressive list of people he’s calling on to take the challenge next.

I’m also a fan of Tom Hiddleston in a wet white t-shirt.

They’re not doing it solely to jump on a bandwagon, as those taking part and also raising funds and awareness for ALS (commonly known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease in the US and motor neurone disease in the UK).

Take a look at the new Ice Bucket celebs below. [Read more…]

Bound (Blu-ray Review)

August 19, 2014 By Tim Isaac 1 Comment

Starring: Jennifer Tilly, Gina Gershon, Joe Pantoliano
Director: Lilly Wachowski, Lana Wachowski
Running Time: 108 mins
Certificate: 18
Release Date: August 18th 2014 (UK)

Back before they were the directors of The Matrix and when Lana was known as Larry, The Wachowskis took the indie film world by storm with the stylish neo-noir Bound. Now the film has come to Blu-ray with a crisp HD print, which is perhaps a little duller than you might hope for a film where splashes of vivid colour are so important, but stills looks extremely good.

Corky (Gina Gershon) is an ex-con working as a handyman in an apartment when she meets the next door neighbours, the Mafia-linked Caesar (Joe Pantoliano) and his girlfriend Violet (Jennifer Tilly). The two women become lovers and hatch a plan to steal $2 million of the mob’s money that Caesar has in their possession. While they think they have everything planned out, the scheme starts to go awry when Caesar doesn’t act as expected. [Read more…]

Killing Season (Blu-ray Review)

August 19, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Starring: Robert De Niro, John Travolta
Director: Mark Steven Johnson
Running Time: 91 mins
Certificate: 15
Release Date: August 18th 2014 (UK)

It’s always a shame when you can see what a movie so desperately hopes to be, but it falls incredibly far short. Killing Season wants be a tense cat and mouse thriller, with a serious backdrop looking at the horrors of war and the way it affects people after the battle is over.  Unfortunately it ends up just being a bit silly and over the top.

It’s a particular shame as this is the first time Robert de Niro and John Travolta have appeared on-screen together. [Read more…]

August 19, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

men-woman-and-children-trailer-slideJason Reitman’s last film, Labor Day, slipped by without too much notice, but the Juno and Up In The Air director he’ll be hoping for a better reception for ensemble film, Men, Women & Children.

Kevin Smith & Johnny Depp (+ Their Daughters) Teaming For Yoga Hosers

August 19, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

johnny-deppIt’s believed Johnny Depp took a very small role in Kevin Smith’s upcoming Tusk as a favour to Kevin Smith. Now it looks like they’re planning a bigger collaboration as THR reports they’re teaming for an comic book style action-adventure called Yoga Hosers (yep, Smith’s retirement is being pushed back once again).

It’ll be a bit of a family affair as Lily-Rose Depp and Smith’s daughter Harley Quinn Smith will star, as will most of the Tusk cast including Michael Parks, Justin Long, Haley Joel Osment, Genesis Rodriguez, Ralph Garman, Jennifer Schwalbach and Harley Morenstein.

To round things off Tony Hale, Natasha Lyonne, Austin Butler, Adam Brody, Tyler Posey and Jason Mewes are also onboard.

The film ‘centers on 15-year-old yoga nuts Colleen Collette (Lily-Rose Depp) and Colleen McKenzie (Harley Quinn Smith) who have an after-school job at a Manitoba convenience store called Eh-2-Zed. When an ancient evil rises from beneath Canada’s crust and threatens their big invitation to a Grade 12 party, the Colleens join forces with a legendary man-hunter from Montreal named Guy Lapointe (Depp) to fight for their lives’.

The film is the second part of Smith’s True North Trilogy, which are based around Canadian myths and legends. While each of the movies tells a separate story they will be loosely linked together (the lead characters in Yoga Hosers will briefly appear in Tusk).

Smith comments, “People always ask me ‘Are you ever going to make a comic book movie? This is it – but instead of yet another dude saving the day, our antiheroes are the most feared and formidable creatures man has ever encountered: two fifteen year old girls.”

Daniel Radcliffe Turns Sexy Bad Boy In A Horns Character Poster

August 19, 2014 By Tim Isaac 1 Comment

Horns-Character-Poster1If we needed more proof that Daniel Radcliffe has left goody-two-shoes Harry Potter behind we just need to look at him being mean, moody and extremely horny in the new Horns character poster above. Especially when you compare him to Juno Temple’s angelic look below.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘From master-of-horror Alexandre Aja (The Hills Have Eyes, Piranha 3D) comes this supernatural, offbeat thriller starring beloved British actor Danielle Radcliffe (Harry Potter, Kill Your Darlings) and the talented Juno Temple (Magic Magic, Sin City: A Dame to Kill For).

‘Ig Perrish (Daniel Radcliffe) is accused for the violent rape and killing of his girlfriend, Merrin Williams (Juno Temple). After a hard night of drinking, Ig awakens, hungover, to find horns growing out of his head; they have the ability to drive people to confess sins and give in to selfish impulses. Ig decides to use this effective tool to discover the circumstances of his girlfriend’s death and to seek revenge by finding the true murderer.

‘Daniel and Juno lead an all-star cast with strong support from David Morse (The Green Mile, The Hurt Locker) and Heather Graham (The Hangover I&II, Boogie Nights).’

It’s due in UK cinemas on October 31st.

First Poster For Stephen Daldry’s Trash Debuts

August 19, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

TRASH-One-Sheet-posterWhile it’s Rio setting might make you think it would have made sense to release Trash to coincide with this year’s soccer World Cup, it appears they have award hopes for Stephen Daldry’s new movie, which looks like it’s hoping to be this year’s Slumdog Millionaire.

Seeing as Daldry has a Best Director Oscar nomination for three of the four movies he’s made – Billy Elliot, The Reader and The Hours, only missing out on a nom for Extremely Loud & Incredibly Close – you can understand why they might think it could be an awards contender. The fact it has a script by Richard Curtis doesn’t hurt either.

Now the first poster for the film has arrived, which you can see above.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘When two trash-picking boys from Rio’s slums find a wallet in amongst the daily detritus of their local dump, little do they imagine that their lives are about to change forever. But when the local police show up, offering a handsome reward for the wallet’s return, the boys, Rafael (RICKSON TEVEZ) and Gardo (LUIS EDUARDO), realise that what they’ve found must be important. Teaming up with their friend Rato (GABRIEL WEINSTEIN), the trio begins an extraordinary adventure as they try to hang onto the wallet, evade the police, and uncover the secrets it contains.

‘Along the way, the boys will have to figure out friend from foe, as they piece together the story of the wallet’s owner José angelo (WAGNER MOURA) and realise they can’t trust the police, led by the dangerous Frederico (SELTON MELLO). But a pair of American missionaries working in their favela – the disillusioned Father Julliard (MARTIN SHEEN) and his young assistant Olivia (ROONEY MARA) – might just have the power to knock on the right doors. Trash is directed by STEPHEN DALDRY and written by RICHARD CURTIS based on the book by ANDY MULLIGAN.’
