More and more companies are trying to get a slice of the booming market for animation, and they’ve been joined by the independently made The Nut Job, which is actually a Canadian and South Korean co-production.
It’s got a big name cast though, with Liam Neeson, Will Arnett, Katherine Heigl, Brendan Fraser, Stephen Lang, Maya Rudolph, and Jeff Dunham.
The 3D film is set in ‘in fictional Oakton and follows the travails of Surly (voiced by Will Arnett), a mischievous squirrel, and his rat friend Buddy, who plan a nut store heist of outrageous proportions and unwittingly find themselves embroiled in a much more complicated and hilarious adventure.’
It’s out in the US in mid-January, but no UK release is currently set. [Read more…]
