Fifty Shades Darker Extended Trailer – Jamie Dornan & Dakota Johnson are back getting sexy once more

January 3, 2017 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

I’m not 100% sure why it’s been called an Extended Trailer, as it’s actually shorter than the last promo that dropped, but a new trailer for Fifty Shades Darker has arrived. It gives us some new footage as well as a listen to the title track from Zayn and Taylor Swift.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson return as Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele in Fifty Shades Darker, the second chapter based on the worldwide bestselling “Fifty Shades” phenomenon.  Expanding upon events set in motion in 2015’s blockbuster film that grossed more than $560 million globally, the new installment arrives for Valentine’s Day and invites you to slip into something a shade darker.

‘When a wounded Christian Grey tries to entice a cautious Ana Steele back into his life, she demands a new arrangement before she will give him another chance.  As the two begin to build trust and find stability, shadowy figures from Christian’s past start to circle the couple, determined to destroy their hopes for a future together.

‘Also returning from Fifty Shades of Grey are Academy Award® winner Marcia Gay Harden, Jennifer Ehle, Luke Grimes, Rita Ora, Victor Rasuk, Eloise Mumford and Max Martini, who are joined for the first time by Oscar® winner Kim Basinger, Hugh Dancy, Bella Heathcote and Eric Johnson.

‘Fifty Shades Darker is directed by James Foley (Fear, House of Cards) and once again produced by Michael De Luca, Dana Brunetti and Marcus Viscidi, alongside E L James, the creator of the culture-spanning blockbuster series.  The screenplay is by Niall Leonard, based on the novel by James.’

The movie will be in cinemas in February. [Read more…]

New Fifty Shades Darker Trailer – Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson get steamy again

December 7, 2016 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

The Fifty Shades movies are a peculiar phenomenon. The first trailer for Fifty Shades Darker broke the record for most views in 24 hours, but it’s a franchise that barely seems to register for those who didn’t immediately watch the trailer, with very people in between.

Now a second trailer has arrived.

American Sniper (DVD Review)

May 31, 2015 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Starring: Bradley Cooper, Sienna Miller, Kyle Gallner, Luke Grimes
Director: Clint Eastwood
Running Time: 132 mins
Certificate: 15
Release Date: June 1st 2015 (UK)

Often when an actor has a passion project it turns out to be something that should never have been attempted and ends up as a very expensive way to massage their ego. However, while Bradley Cooper was one of the major driving forces behind American Sniper, it was always clear he was onto something interesting. Indeed, at one point Steven Spielberg even signed on to direct, before the gig went to Clint Eastwood.

While Clint may be known as a bit of a hard man actor, he really brings the emotion out of what could have been a rather stereotypical war story in other hands.

The film is about Chris Kyle (Cooper), who found ‘fame’ of sorts when he became the Navy SEAL sniper with the most verified kills in US history. However, the movie isn’t just about his time on the battlefield but also its effects – both how he deals with what he’s doing while on tour (which for a sniper is oddly personal, as it involves very deliberately finding a single person and snuffing out their life) and also when he arrives back home and is suddenly supposed to jump into ‘normal’ life again. Did Luke Grimes Quit True Blood Because His Character Was Going A Bit Gay?

June 27, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

luke-grimesWhile Buzzfeed has had some pretty good scoops, they’ve also released more than a few stories that seem to be based on little more than the fever dream of the reporter, so it’s difficult to know how much we should trust this one. However the site reports that True Blood’s Luke Grimes left the show due to that fact his character was getting a gay storyline in the new season.

The return of the show for its seventh season saw a new actor take over the role of James, the vampire boyfriend of Jessica (Deborah Ann Woll). The reason someone else came in is reportedly because Grimes was uncomfortable with a gay storyline that was developing in the early episodes of Season 7 between James and Lafayette (Nelsan Ellis).

Buzzfeed’s source says Grimes was prepared to play the role so long as ‘Lafayette [was] attracted to him, but not if the attraction was mutual.’ He also supposedly objected to having to do any same sex kissing or sex scenes.

Grimes’ publicist, Craig Schneider, denied Luke leaving the show had anything to do with content and was purely about scheduling due to the 30-year-old wanting to pursue other opportunities, such as playing Christian Grey’s brother in the movie version of Fifty Shades of Grey and a role in the currently filming American Sniper. He also suggested Grimes hadn’t even seen any of the Season 7 scripts when he made the decision not to return.

This isn’t the first time rumours have surfaced it was the direction of the character has caused Grimes to quit, as TVLine said this was the reason when it was first announced he wasn’t returning last December. At the time though it wasn’t said what it was that the actor didn’t like about what was planned for James.

It would seem odd that someone who’d already appeared in the LGBT friendly True Blood would have a problem if his character got some same sex action, especially in this day and age. However it may be it’s something Grimes genuinely uncomfortable about when it comes to him doing it (and if this was a few years ago, we’d wonder if this the result of agents who tended to suggest gay actors avoid LGBT roles completely, due to a presumption they would be outed and it would affect their career, particularly if they had hopes of being a movie leading man – but hey, this is 2014, isn’t it?). And of course, it could just be that Buzzfeed is mistaken.

Fifty Shades’ Luke Grimes Up For American Sniper

March 26, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Luke-GrimesLuke Grimes has recently been getting busy on the set of Fifty Shades of Grey, but that won’t be his only big movie of 2015, as he is in final talks to join American Sniper, which already has the likes of Bradley Cooper, Sienna Miller and Jake McDorman attached to star.

The action movie is based on the autobiography of Navy SEAL Chris Kyle (Cooper), a Texas native who racked up the most confirmed sniper kills of anyone in US military history.

However before he took the record, he was a rodeo cowboy. Tragically though, he was killed by a fellow veteran at a shooting range in February 2013 (it’s not clear if that will be included in the movie).

Grimes will play fellow SEAL team member Marc Lee.

Clint Eastwood is directing from a screenplay by Jason Dean Hall (Paranoia, Spread),.

Hottie Luke Grimes Joins Fifty Shades of Grey

October 26, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Luke-GrimesNow that Jamie Dornan has stepped into the role of Christian Grey, after it was vacated by Charlie Hunnam, Universal and director Sam Taylor-Johnson are rushing to fill out the rest of the Fifty Shades Of Grey cast. They’ve now signed Luke Grimes as Christian’s brother, Elliot, according to Variety.

Dakota Johnson is set to play Anastasia Steele, a young college student who strikes up a steamy, S&M filled affair with 27-year-old billionaire Christian Grey. Jennifer Ehle is also attached as Anastasia’s mother, Carla.

Variety notes that there are still key supporting roles to be cast, such as Anastasia’s roommate and Christian’s bodyguard, which have the potential to be break-out roles for any young actor.

Grimes is known for playing Ryan in TV’s Brothers & Sisters, and has also appeared in All The Boys Love Mandy Lane (which was his debut), Taken 2 and Season 6 of True Blood. He’ll have a big summer 2014, because as well as Fifty Shades, he’s also due to appear in Transformers: Age of Extinction.

Sam Taylor-Johnson is directing from a screenplay by Kelly Marcel, which is being polished by Patrick Marber. Production starts next month in Vancouver.

Hunter Parrish & More Auditioning For Transformers 4

November 15, 2012 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

It appears development of Transformers 4 is now running at full steam. Last week it was revealed Mark Wahlberg was attached to star in the movie and now Michael Bay is looking to get him some company, as THR reports that the director is auditioning a number of up and coming actors to play Wahlberg’s daughter and her race-car driver boyfriend.

Hunter Parrish (Weeds), Luke Grimes (Taken 2), Landon Liboiron (Terra Nova), Brenton Thwaites (Blue Lagoon: The Awakening), and newcomer Jack Reynor will be testing for the boyfriend role this week. Nicola Peltz (The Last Airbender) and Isabelle Cornish (Abbie Cornish’s sister), are auditioning to play the daughter.

Whoever gets cast will apparently need to sign a three-picture deals for these roles, suggesting they’ll play a big part in the franchise’s future. This new trilogy will be a continuation of the series rather than a reboot, but it will feature an entirely new human cast.

Michael Bay will direct from a script by Ehren Kruger, although it isn’t known exactly when production will begin. It can’t be too long until camera roll though as a release date of June 29th, 2014 is already set.

Luke Grimes Signs On For Taken 2

November 9, 2011 By Movie Muser Leave a Comment

It may have taken them a while to get Taken 2 ready for filming, but it’s now gearing up to shoot, and new cast members are coming on-board to join returnees Liam Neeson and Maggie Grace. The latest to sign up is Luke Grimes, according to Variety.

Grimes is probably best known for playing Ryan in TV’s Brothers & Sisters, but has also appeared in All The Boys Love Mandy Lane (which was his debut) and will soon be in The Wait and Outlaw Country. In Taken 2 he’s set to be Maggie Grace’s love interest, who gets roped into helping her when her parents are kidnapped by the father of one of the bad guys from the first movie.

Olivier Megaton is set to direct.
