Perhaps Man Of Steel gave Amy Adams a taste for thing verging on sci-fi, as the American Hustle actress is in talks to star in Denis Villeneuve’s thriller Story of Your Life, according to Deadline.
The movie is based on Ted Chiang’s short story about a linguist (Adams) who is recruited by the government after alien spacecraft start to appear all over the world. She must try to determine whether these extraterrestrials come in peace, or whether they have more evil intentions.
However, as she begins to communicate with them, the linguist experiences flashbacks that help unlock the mystery of why they are really here. (It’s a plot that will sound oddly familiar to anyone who’s seen the film, The Arrival Of Wang).
Eric Heisserer (The Thing, Final Destination 5) wrote the script. It’s not clear when it will shoot.
