David Hyde Pierce is coming back to TV with a run in The Good Wife. To mark that, he showed up on Larry King Now for an interview. He’s done surprisingly little on-screen work in the 10 years since his multi-award winning turn in Frasier, instead concentrating on theatre, and in 2008 he married his partner Brian Cosgrove in California.
On Larry King he spoke about his surprise at how fast marriage equality has spread in the US since then (it’s not a shock he’s surprised considering that his own marriage had to survive the issues surrounding Prop 8).
He says, ‘I’m amazed at the sort of domino effect with same-sex marriage happening throughout the states. It had to do with visibility (and) all the brave people who fought for marriage.’
Pierce adds that it wasn’t just those in the midst of the battle who were important, as much of the change has been due to ‘just the average American looking at these people or looking at friends or family who are gay or lesbian and realising (gay marriage bans are) kind of hypocritical…’
He continues, ‘It’s kind of hypocritical to say, “Oh, I love you dearly, you’re my best friend. Would I let you marry the person you love? Well, sorry, no”. Those conversations used to happen a lot, and they happen less and less now…’
‘It just seems more important to let people live their lives. It seems in a way, more American.’

It’s not too long now until we get to return to the San Francisco world of Patrick (Jonathan Groff) and his friends, and now we get to take our first proper look with a full length trailer, which shows us the boys are going on a trip together and there’s still plenty of emotional heartache to deal with.
Here’s a trailer that’s likely to divide fans. It’s set up to deliberately remind us of the early days of the Terminator franchise with an odd sense of nostalgia, but about halfway through it essentially says everything we saw before never happened and that it’s all been reset.
Noah Baumbach (Frances Ha, Squid And The Whale) is back with While We’re Young, which reteamed him with his Greenberg star Ben Stiller, alongside Naomi Watts, Adam Driver and Amanda Seyfried, for a look at a 40-something couple trying to keep hold of their youth.
If I’m being perfectly honest, the
When Ryan Reynolds played Deadpool in X-Men Origins: Wolverine, the idea before it was even filmed was that it would set up a spin-off movie for him. However when the film was badly received and the way the character was portrayed didn’t please fans (and Reynolds went off to DC’s Green Lantern), it didn’t kill off Deadpool film plans, but they certainly went on the backburner.
Chris Pratt has had one hell of a year, with Guardians Of The Galaxy turning him into a bona fide movie star, voicing the lead character in The Lego Movie, shooting next year’s biggie Jurassic World and being in contention for all manner of massive movie roles.
It’s official, Bond 24 has been announced with a major event in London and it will be called Spectre. Of course that’s the name of the evil organisation headed by Blofeld in early Bond movies (It stands for (SPecial Executive for Counter-intelligence, Terrorism, Revenge and Extortion), and the name of the film signals its return.
Will this be one of Bruce Willis’ good movies or one of his paycheck movies? The fact it’s going to iTunes in the US the same day it arrives in cinemas suggests the latter, but we’ll have to wait and see.
Just a few weeks ago Disney announced a new animated movie, Moana, and they’re not wasting any time, as
