Jason Bateman & Tina Fey Have A Lot Of Family In A This I Where I Leave You Poster

July 11, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

this-is-where-i-leave-you-posterA few weeks ago we got a trailer for Shawn Levy’s dark comedy This Is Where I Leave You, and now it’s been followed up by a poster showing off the film’s large cast, which includes Jason Bateman, Tina Fey, Adam Driver, Rose Byrne, Corey Stoll, Kathryn Hahn, Connie Britton, Timothy Olyphant, Dax Shepard and Jane Fonda.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘When their father passes away, four grown siblings, bruised and banged up by their respective adult lives, are forced to return to their childhood home and live under the same roof together for a week, along with their over-sharing mother and an assortment of spouses, exes and might-have-beens. Confronting their history and the frayed states of their relationships among the people who know and love them best, they ultimately reconnect in hysterical and emotionally affecting ways amid the chaos, humor, heartache and redemption that only families can provide— driving us insane even as they remind us of our truest, and often best, selves.

The film will hit cinemas this September.

This Is Where I Leave You Trailer – Shawn Levy does something different with Tina Fey & Jason Bateman

May 28, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Shawn Levy is best known for helming comedies and big family-friendly films such as Night At The Museum, The Internship and Real Steel. However he’s going more towards dramatic dark comedy with This Is Where I Leave You.

He’s certainly teamed up with a great cast to do it, including Jason Bateman, Tina Fey, Adam Driver, Rose Byrne, Corey Stoll, Kathryn Hahn, Connie Britton, Timothy Olyphant, Dax Shepard and Jane Fonda.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘When their father passes away, four grown siblings, bruised and banged up by their respective adult lives, are forced to return to their childhood home and live under the same roof together for a week, along with their over-sharing mother and an assortment of spouses, exes and might-have-beens. Bad Neighbours (aka Neighbors) (Cinema)

May 2, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Starring: Seth Rogen, Rose Byrne, Zac Efron, Lisa Kudrow
Director: Nicholas Stoller
Running Time: 95 mins
Certificate: 15
Release Date: May 3rd 2014

The title is the first clue. Any film with a duh title like that is clearly the product of the Hollywood sausage machine, and Bad Neighbours is a classic example. The script seems to be written on autopilot, or on a software programme that probably looks like settings>frat boy comedy>couple of stars>condom gags>90 minutes. It’s predictable, utterly unfunny, full of tiresome knob and beer gabs and a total waste of the talent involved. [Read more…]

Annie International Trailer – It’s still a hard knock life for the little orphan

April 15, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

During the development of a new version of Annie, the fact that Will Smith and Jay-Z were both involved with updating the score made them assume this would be a full-on hip hop take on the classic musical.

However the first trailers have been keen to show us it’s not going to be too far from the musical many know and love – the sun will still be coming out tomorrow and it remains a hard knock life, even if it is set in the modern day.

The plot also remains the same, with orphan Annie (Quvenzhane Wallis) having a hard-luck life in the foul orphanage run by Miss Hannigan (Cameron Diaz). She’s then taken in by the filthy rich Benjamin Stacks (Jamie Foxx). In this version he’s running for office and initially just wants Annie so the press will se him being nice to an orphan, but he soon falls for the plucky youngster’s charms. And then Annie’s real parents are found, or are they?

Will Gluck is directing from his own screenplay, which was originally written by Aline Brosh McKenna and Emma Thompson. Annie is currently set for release December 25th, 2014. [Read more…]

New Bad Neighbours Red Band Trailer – Seth Rogen and Zac Efron are not getting on

April 8, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Who wouldn’t want to live next door to Zac Efron? Seth Rogen and Rose Byrne, that’s who, as this new red-band trailer for Bad Neighbours (known simply as Neighbors in the US) shows.

Now a couple of new red-band trailers have arrived, which you can watch right here.

The movie follows Rogen’s character, whose life is upended when the house next door is taken over by a bunch of fratboys, including Zac Efron and Dave Franco. As fratboys are wont to do in the movies, they soon cause chaos.

The movie certainly looks like it might be fun, but we’ll have to wait and see whether Nicholas Stoller’s movie is as entertaining as it appear it could be.

The movie’s out May 9th.

Rose Byrne May Reunite With Melissa McCarthy In Susan Cooper

October 19, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Rose-ByrneIt’s gonna be a Bridesmaids reunion, as TheWrap reports that Rose Byrne is in talks to reteam with Melissa McCarthy and director Paul Feig for the action comedy Susan Cooper. No deal has been made yet, but it’s all expected to come together.

The film has been described as a James Bond-inspired spy comedy, but with a female lead. While Feig is known for broad comedy, Susan Cooper isn’t a parody, but is instead said to be a realistic comedy, which is heavily influenced by Martin Campbell’s Casino Royale.

The film is said to centre on two lead characters, McCarthy will be the title character, although it’s not known what Bryne’s will be called in the film. Jason Statham is said to be circling the project as well.

Susan Cooper is being set up as a potential franchise. It won’t shoot for a while yet though, as cameras aren’t set to roll until McCarthy has completed the latest season of Mike & Molly.

Neighbors Red Band Trailer – Zac Efron & Dave Franco turn frat boys

September 3, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

I’ve lived next door to a frat house, and to be honest, it wasn’t that bad, but that’s not the case for Seth Rogen, who gets good news and bad news when he has new neighbors.

The good news is that Zac Efron and Dave Franco have moved in, but the bad is that they are part of a loud, hard-partying frat who really don’t care what sort of chaos they cause the neighborhood.

After a rather hot pic of Efron in the movie landed a couple of days ago (which you can see below), now a red band trailer for Neighbors has landed, showing just what sort of disruption the Rogen and Rose Byrne experience when the boys come to town.

The film will be in cinemas early next year.
