Insidious cost only $1.5 million to make but grossed around $100 million at the worldwide box office, so it’s not too surprising a sequel has been in the works. Now a US release date of August 30th, 2013 has been set and THR has revealed that both Patrick Wilson and Rose Byrne have signed up to reprise their roles in this follow-up.
No story details have been revealed about the film, although with the first film following Wilson & Byrne as they try to save their son who’s trapped in a dark dimension by dark spirits, I think we can assume a lot more creepy things will be going on and the family hasn’t escaped the supernatural.
Lin Shaye and Ty Simpkins will also return, with the same behind-the-screen team of director James Wan, screenwriter Leigh Whannell and producer Jason Blum back as well. Shooting will start January 15th in LA.

We’ve had to wait a long time for Neill Blomkamp’s follow-up to District 9, but now it’s on its way, with Elysium now in post-production and preparing for release next August. Now a new image from the movie has arrived, with Matt Damon rocking the balding look and wearing a gun and a load of hydraulics.
