Amanda Seyfried Joins Ted 2 As The New Female Lead

February 24, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

amanda-seyfriedSeth MacFarlane has been busy making his second directorial outing, A Million Ways To Die In The West, but he hasn’t forgotten about the sequel to his first, as Deadline reports that Amanda Seyfried has joined Ted 2 as the new female lead.

If you’re wondering what’s happened to Mila Kunis, who played the girlfriend of Mark Wahlberg’s John Bennett in the first film, she is likely to film a small part for the new film, however it is likely to be so minor that it could end up being cut from the film. Kunis being given a smaller role is apparently purely for creative reasons and not due to a rift between Seth MacFarlane and the actress (after all, she still voices Meg on his show, Family Guy).

Seth MacFarlane is directing from a script he co-wrote with Ted collaborators Alec Sulkin and Wellesley Wild. A release date of June 26th, 2015, with filming expecting to start this summer. Seyfried will also be seen in MacFarlane’s A Million Ways to Die in the West, which is out this May.

February 5, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

octavia-spencerAaron Paul, Russell Crowe and Amanda Seyfried have been attached to Fathers And Daughters for a few months, and now the cast has grown once more, as the news has come out of Berlin (via Variety) that Octavia Spencer, Quvenzhane Wallis And Diane Kruger have joined the movie.

The film is set in two different time periods, 25 years apart, in New York City. Crowe plays a famous novelist who is struggling to raise his five-year-old daughter, largely because he is battling mental illness. Amanda Seyfried is playing the adult daughter in present-day Manhattan, who is still coming to grips with her troubled childhood.

According to Variety, ‘Spencer will play the spirited head of the psychiatric clinic where Seyfried’s character counsels troubled children. Wallis will play a patient who hasn’t spoken a word for a year since her mother was murdered while Kruger will play the sister-in law of Crowe’s character, who blames him for the death of her sister.’

Gabriele Muccino is set to direct.

A Million Ways To Die In The West Red Band Trailer – Take your first look at Seth MacFarlane’s western comedy

January 31, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Yesterday we posted an octet of character posters for Seth MacFarlane’s A Million Ways To Die In The West, and now comes the red band trailer, which suggests this will be just as anarchic and rude as you’d expect from the creator of Family Guy. However it might be a lot more violent that you might have thought.

Here’s the synopsis: ‘Seth MacFarlane directs, produces, co-writes and plays the role of the cowardly sheep farmer Albert in A Million Ways to Die in the West. After Albert backs out of a gunfight, his fickle girlfriend leaves him for another man. When a mysterious and beautiful woman rides into town, she helps him find his courage and they begin to fall in love. But when her husband, a notorious outlaw, arrives seeking revenge, the farmer must put his newfound courage to the test.

‘Starring alongside MacFarlane are Oscar® winner Charlize Theron, Liam Neeson, Amanda Seyfried, Giovanni Ribisi, Sarah Silverman and Neil Patrick Harris. MacFarlane reunites many of the filmmakers behind Universal and MRC’s hit film Ted including Scott Stuber (Bluegrass Films) and Jason Clark who produce, and Wellesley Wild and Alec Sulkin who co-wrote the script.’ [Read more…]

Rebel Wilson Joins Amanda Seyfried In He’s F***ing Perfect

January 11, 2014 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

rebel-wilsonEver since we first heard about He’s F***ing Perfect, we’ve thought this was a film that needed Rebel Wilson in it. It seems she agrees as only a day after we heard she’s joined the cast of Night At The Museum 3, Variety reports that she’s signed up for Perfect.

She joins Amanda Seyfried in the movie, who will play a pessimistic woman who uses her social media skills to find out everything she can about the guys her friends date. When she meets her perfect match, she uses her web skills to turn herself into the right woman for him. Rebel Wilson is playing her carefree best friend, who tries to get her to stop all the online snooping/stalking.

Jake Szymanski is directing from a screenplay by Lauryn Kahn. Adam McKay and Will Ferrell are producing through their Gary Sanchez Productions company. It’s not clear when it will shoot.

Lovelace (DVD)

December 30, 2013 By Tim Isaac Leave a Comment

Starring: Amanda Seyfried, Peter Sarsgaard, Juno Temple, Adam Brody, James Franco
Director: Rob Epstein, Jeffrey Friedman
Running Time: 89 mins
Certificate: 18
Release Date: December 23rd 2013

How do you make a true-tale movie where the facts are in dispute? Well, you either pretend they’re not in dispute, or you try to find a way to suggest you don’t fully know what happened. Or, like Lovelace, you try to do both and trip over yourself in the process.

The film is a biopic of Linda Lovelace (Amanda Seyfried), the star of 70s porn chic hit Deep Throat, which by some reckonings is the most profitable movies ever made on the basis of budget versus its gross – however as much of the cash went through mob-controlled porn theatres, it’s impossible to know how much it actually made.
