It’s back to the fairytale realm for The Huntsman: Winter’s War, which has just dropped a new trailer. As with previous promos, it’s difficult not to get the feeling you’re watching a live-action, more grown-up version of Frozen, and it’s tough to know whether that was the intention or not.
Here’s the synopsis: ‘The fantastical world of Snow White and the Huntsman expands to reveal how the fates of The Huntsman Eric and Queen Ravenna are deeply and dangerously intertwined. Chris Hemsworth and Oscar® winner Charlize Theron return to their roles in The Huntsman Winter’s War, an epic action-adventure in which they are joined by Emily Blunt and Jessica Chastain, as well as director Cedric Nicolas-Troyan. Producer Joe Roth (Maleficent, Alice in Wonderland) once again leads the team in a breathtaking new tale nested in the legendary saga.
‘Long before the evil Queen Ravenna (Theron) was thought vanquished by Snow White’s blade, she watched silently as her sister, Freya (Blunt), suffered a heartbreaking betrayal and fled their kingdom. With Freya’s ability to freeze any enemy, the young ice queen has spent decades in a remote wintry palace raising a legion of deadly huntsmen—including Eric (Hemsworth) and warrior Sara (Chastain)—only to find that her prized two defied her one demand: Forever harden your hearts to love.
‘When Freya learns of her sister’s demise, she summons her remaining soldiers to bring the Magic Mirror home to the only sorceress left who can harness its power. There are quite a few famous names we will hear but not see in Disney’s upcoming live-action take on The Jungle. All the animals will be CGI, but many will be voiced by well-known actors. It’s a great idea then to release a set of pics showing us the actors alongside their computer-generated counterparts.
Poor old sharks – they’re just hungry or curious, and we make such a fuss when they try to eat us. The latest to start whining when a large fish wants to bite her is Blake Lively in The Shallows, which has just dropped its first trailer.

Many believe Warner Bros. have taken a big gamble with The Legend Of Tarzan, not necessarily because of the subject, but because they’ve ended up with director David Yates doing post-production on two of their biggest movies at the same time. He’s working on both this and the Harry Potter spin-off Fantastic Beasts & Where To Find Them, with the two films due out only four months apart.
The timeline may have been reset with X-Men: Days Of Future Past, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t still plenty of problems between man and mutant – or more particularly in Apocalypse between mutant and mutant. Now a new trailer has dropped which suggests this is going to be one hell of a battle.
Genius has been in the works for a long time – Colin Firth first attached himself to it back in 2012 – but it’s only now that it’s in the can and the first trailer for the movie has arrived. While a movie about a book editor doesn’t sound that interesting, as it’s about a man who helped the likes of Ernest Hemingway and F. Scott Fitzgerald get published, it’s certainly got potential.

There was more reticence when it was announced that Timur Bekmambetov would direct, as the likes of Wanted and Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter haven’t suggested he’s a perfect fit for an iconic epic.
After the surprise success of Now You See Me, it didn’t take long for them to put a sequel into development. It has taken a little longer to arrive that originally planned, but now it’s on its way and the main trailer has arrived.
